October Update: Cake Bake, Veterans Appreciation Month & What's Ahead

Welcome to fall, Pack 329! There's a lot coming up this season. Here's everything you need to know.

Heads up: there is no Pack meeting in October. We'll see you at the Cake Bake!

Annual Cake Bake Fundraiser

Saturday, October 24 · 2:30 PM · Simis Cafeteria
Scout attire: Class A uniform required

Join us for the 2026 Pack 329 Cake Bake Fundraiser! Bring the whole family, extended family included. Every Scout is encouraged to take part.

Setup begins at 2:00 PM. All competition cakes must be checked in by 2:15 PM.

Cake Bake Rules

These rules keep the event fun and running smoothly:

  1. Cakes must be baked primarily by the Cub Scout, with minimal help from a parent or Akela. Please practice oven safety.
  2. Cake mixes are fine. No store-bought cakes.
  3. Every cake needs a title, given at registration.
  4. Cakes will be registered and given a number for judging. All cakes must be submitted by 2:15 PM. Late cakes may be disqualified from judging but can still go into the silent auction.
  5. Cakes must sit on a sturdy base, like a tray or board (cardboard is fine). The base goes home with the buyer if the cake sells at auction.
  6. Be creative and have fun!

Categories

An outside guest judge will award prizes in the categories below. Each cake can enter only one category.

  • Wildcard – Anything Goes
  • Games & Entertainment
  • Spookiest
  • Scouting
  • Siblings

Prizes

  • First, second and third place in each category
  • First, second and third place in each den

A single cake can't win more than one award.

This year we're lucky to welcome our distinguished guest judge, Presiding Disciplinary Judge the Honorable Lisa VanderBerg. Cakes for the auction finale are generously provided by Y-Vi Artisan Sweets and Sweet Kiss Bakery.

November Is Veterans Appreciation Month

Veterans Day Parade

November 11 – The parade starts at 11:00 AM. Details on the Scout start time will follow.

Veterans Event Pack Meeting

Tuesday, November 17 · 6:30 PM · Simis Cafeteria

We'll show our support for troops overseas by building care packages for soldiers during our November Pack meeting.
